LeBron James passes Magic Johnson in all-time NBA assists standings

LeBron James passed Magic Johnson in the NBA’s assist standings on Friday night (local time). The Los Angeles Lakers star player recorded his 10,144th assist against the Milwaukee Bucks, while Johnson had a career-high 10,141.

The Lakers won 129-133 at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. James had 11 assists and 28 points against the Bucks.

Anthony Davis was the top scorer of the evening with 44 points. On the side of Milwaukee Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo scored forty points.

The 37-year-old James is still a long way from the first place in the all-time assists standings. John Stockton came to no less than 15,806 assists in his career and is proudly in the lead.

It seems more likely that James, who is in his twentieth season, will one day lead the NBA point rankings. He stands at 37,451 points after 1,381 games. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the all-time leading scorer with 38,387.

James helped the Lakers to only the third away win of the season. Seven of the last ten matches have been won.
